The Main Line. What is the Main Line, where does it begin? where does it end?
The Main Line is a state of mind some say and many argue about what towns and villages get to wear the badge of being associated with it. Essentially it is a collection of towns including, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Radnor, Devon, Wayne, Berwyn, Gladwyne and more that huddle up against the old Horse Path of Lancaster Avenue- the trade route by which all commerce from the West came in to the Capitol (at the time) of Philadelphia. The horse path was bested by industry as the Railroad was built parallel to it and the Main Line was born. Getting in and out of the city became a breeze and much of the wealth in Philadelphia poured into these towns. With wealth came some of the best educational institutions in the world, from private schools like Villanova, Germantown Academy, Shipley, and the Haverford schools to award winning public schools like Tredyffrin/Easttown, Lower Merion, and Radnor. The Main Line a paradise for folks relocating to the area with giant stone mansions, post war brick bungalows, contemporary masterpieces and overall the most coveted real estate in South Eastern Pennsylvania
There really is just too much to say about these towns, but if you would like to learn more about a specific locale from Berwyn to Bala Cynwyd and how you can get your piece of precious Main Line Real Estate, contact us today.
